Insert Moulding and Overmoulding

At Trimfix we have expertise in insert moulding and over moulding.

Insert moulding is when a (stainless steel, brass, plastic etc) insert is placed into the tool and thermoplastic or rubber is injected around the insert incasing it. 

Overmoulding can be one of two processes:

• it is a process whereby a pre-moulded part is put into a tool and an additional plastic or rubber moulding is moulded on to it. 

• it can also be used to describe overmoulding an insert or mesh within a plastic part.
